Coach Mo’s story

At seven years old, my life changed when I learned a word that no little girl should become acquainted with: REJECTION.  From that day, a shadow of toxic validating tendencies became who I was.  I did any and everything to be reminded of my worth because I was so desperate just to be accepted.  I was never afraid of a stage because I started my journey on the pulpit at church and recited poetry in competitions. It wasn’t until I realized that everyone around me couldn't be the problem.  I realized I had much internal work to do, which required me to confront the things I knew were toxic in my life.

I have a dedicated passion for sharing and educating others in the areas of self-worth and personal and professional development.  I obtained my bachelor’s degree from Florida International University in Interdisciplinary Studies because, once again, I love all walks of life.  I have successfully passed courses in psychology, women and gender studies, and more. I have my master’s degree in marketing while running a non-profit organization, a trucking company, a corporate career, a mother, a wife, and a friend.   I have learned to unlock my ability to do whatever my heart desires?  I don’t have limits on myself anymore, and I want to help you discover that you are limitless as long as you know your worth.

In early 2007, my husband and I founded our first nonprofit, Handling Risky Business, which is dedicated to making a 360-degree investment in youth.  During the growth of HRB, I created all programs to ensure our mission was being reached, and through that, Girl Bee, You was birthed.  We wanted a specific segment that focused purely on girl empowerment to help uplift girls in our community.   Often in these workshops, the feedback from the mothers was enough to show me that I was missing the whole connection of girl empowerment, which meant including the women component.  This is where Bond Builder was born. To date, I have successfully empowered women and girls from all walks of life, conducted workshops, and developed innovative curricula for enhancing women and girls. I love seeing others win and breakthrough self-built barriers. I love helping empower girls and women because, in my opinion, that’s what empowered people should do naturally. We are growing our community and expanding our platform to provide resources and tools for personal and professional development.

I’m not rich (materialistically), but I’m happy and want to share how I got there with you.  The things I have experienced during my years in corporate America are worth sharing because we only grow with knowledge obtained.  The journey to overcoming toxic validation syndrome can also help others become free.  My purpose was already defined for me and was only put into motion when I understood what self-discovery meant to my life and complete happiness.
